Yam Concepcion: Viva Talent, Ursa Minor Drummer, FHM cover girl | Photos | Video

I'm really a fan of these rocker chicks, especially if they are drummers; proof of such fetish is Yam Concepcion, a talent of Viva Entertainment and FHM Philippines cover girl for its October 2012 issue.

I saw her a few years back when she was banging the drum kit for Ursa Minor (an indie band, which they say is grunge but is actually more of an emo-punk band to my ears). She was really really pretty and cute back then (now, she's voluptuously sexy and yummy). But we didn't get past her "bouncer" to get to know her better. Their vocalist/guitarist was her very own brother (or so he says, but now I doubt that).

The indie crowd enjoyed a monopoly of having an eye candy such as Yam Concepcion in their midst. Soon, the public had a glimpse of her as she was cast into the mainstream limelight in videos by Red Horse Muzikalaban winner Mayonnaise. She was seen in "Sinungaling" (said video, below). Soon, she played the love interest in JC Regino's video for "Ang Buhay Ko'y Para Sa'Yo".

Yam then was featured in the February 2010 issue of Maxim magazine. Pulp Magazine also gave her the 2009 Rock Vixen award; in said mag, she was also a featured artist.

Viva Entertainment took notice of Miss Concepcion, a look-alike of Anjanette Abayari (or so they say, see below image to judge for yourself), who has the talent for hosting, singing and dancing.

Her biggest exposure (literally!) to date is her photos and profile in FHM Philippines. Don't forget to grab a copy (I dare say, she's the most daring cover girl of said magazine for the year)!

Binibining Pilipinas Winner, Miss Universe Runner-up Shamcey Supsup

A real beauty and brain combination is Shamcey Supsup, who became third runner-up to Leila Lopes of Angola in the Miss Universe 2011 pageant. She was born on May 16, 1986 in General Santos City (from the Philippine southern region of Mindanao).

Here is a photo of her with Anne Curtis for the September 2012 catalog for AVON Philippines.

She is really intelligent. She not only graduated as valedictorian of her grade school batch and as salutatorian in Makati High School (secondary). Shamcey also finished magna cum laude from the University of the Philippines – the country’s premiere tertiary institution. Miss Supsup even topped the 2010 Architect Licensure Examination.

On April 10, 2011, she won the Binibining Pilipinas pageant at the Araneta Coliseum (where the historic “Thrilla in Manila” bout between Ali and Frazier was fought).

At the Miss Universe pageant in Brazil on September 12, 2011, she topped the online poll for its question and answer portion. The gorgeous Supsup also placed second in the online ranking for the evening gown competition.

During the Miss Universe pageant's question and answer portion, judge Vivica A. Fox asked her the question: "Would you change your religious beliefs to marry the person that you love? Why or why not?"

To which, the Filipina beauty replied, "If I had to change my religious beliefs, I would not marry the person that I love because the first person I love is God, who created me. I have my faith and my principles, and this is what makes me who I am. And if that person loves me, he should love my God, too."

As of this writing, it has been announced that she is set to marry businessman Lloyd Lee.
