German-Filipina actress and commercial model Julia Montes was born Mara Hautea Schnittka on March 19, 1995. I fearlessly predict that she would be the next big star of Philippine TV and movies, after her stint on ABS-CBN's hit primetime soap "Walang Hanggan" with Coco Martin and Melissa Ricks (also featured in this blog).
Miss Montes is born to Filipina Gemma Hautea and German Martin Schnittka. It is rumored that her father left her when she was young and she has no memories of him. Her deaf mother raised her with lola (grandmother) Flory. This feat truly makes her adorable and admirable!
Here she is in the Bench 2012 Back to School Campaign (see photos below).
After various stints as a child image model in various commercials and TV advertisements since 2004, Julia got her big break as a part of "Goin' Bulilit" - a program which showcased little kids as comedians. The show had her in it from 2004 to 2008.
According to Wikipedia, young Miss Julia Montes first auditioned for GMA 7's noon time show "Eat Bulaga". But they did not cast her, which led her to find work in its rival network - ABS-CBN.
A born-again Christian, she graduated high school, with fairly good marks, in Blessed Hope Christian School in 2011. But schooling did not deter her from show business, in 2010; she was casted in the remake of "Mara Clara", a popular soap which previously launched the careers of Judy Ann Santos and Gladys Reyes.
This year, 2012, the German-Filipina actress took the lead in a mature role in the soap opera "Walang Hanggan". The network is now preparing for the show's Book 2. In photos below, she poses with her co-star Coco Martin.
